Golden Whip Stream (Jin Bian Xi):
A poetic stream flows between grotesque quartzite sandstone peaks and luscious forests in the east of the National Forest Park, highlights along the banks include Golden Whip Rock, Purple Grass Pond, Rock of Welcoming Guests, Reunion Rock and Chonghuan Tree, etc.

Yellow Stone Stronghold (Huangshi Zhai):

Yaozi Village:

2. Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve

Yellow Dragon Cave:
One of the first AAAA National Tourist Attractions in China and one of the most miraculous karst caves in the world, whose best developed and known spots include the Dragon Dance Hall, Dragon Palace, Immortal Waterfall, Heaven Pillar Street and the Sounding River, etc.

Baofeng Lake:
A body of crystalline and calm water surrounded by emerald mountains 20 mins drive from Zhangjiajie National Park, holding such such spiffy spots as A Gleam of Sky, Baofeng Waterfall, Yingwo Ancient Stronghold, Lake on the High Gorge, Waterfall on the Cliff, etc.

5.Maoyan River
Length: 50 kilometers
Location: the upstream reach of Lishui River, in Yongding District of Zhangjiajie City
Features:
Along its flow there are some 69 shoals, 30 fascinating waterfalls, and numerous grotesque boulders, steep cliffs, amazing peaks, rock grottoes, and most reputedly, its roaring rapids which have earned the river the first "Rudy Boat Water Rafting Tour Route" and the "First Water rafting Route in the World".

Tujia Folk Custom Park: An AAAA National Tourist Attraction in China, dedicated exclusively to the exquisite folk customs of Tujia minority people, many of the attractions displayed and activities demonstrated were listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

With an average annual temperature of 16.8C, frost-free period of 216-269 days a year, annual rainfall of 1,400 mm, and annual sunshine of 1440 hours, Zhangjiajie falls into the category of subtropical monsoon climate, and more of the humid kind which results in a year-round pleasant weather condition comparable to that in Kunming.
It is neithter painfully sweltering during summer, nor bone-chillingly bleak during winter in the city, where the standard set of tourist attire for Southeast Asia trips, such as short sleeve T-shirts, loose-fitting shorts, open-toe sandals plus sunglasses, sun block and insect repellent for hot days, or long johns, sweaters and warm overcoats for cold days, would suffice.
However, the daedal landform and ground feature of the region, especially in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park as well as the other more frequented scenic spots of the surrounding areas known for their breathtaking landscapes, has far more complicated the climatic ranges than you would have expected.
If you're destined to capture the essence of a UNESCO World Heritage listed site, it is advisable to bring a variety of clothes for preparation of all weather conditions.
While your exploration takes you from the mysterious subterranean grottoes to mirrorlike surface of lakes to magnificent summits of mountains above the clouds, you will have a taste of what "four seasons within one day" really like.
But bear in mind that it is you who are about to haul your bags and knapsacks all the way up the arduous trek, so pack as much simple light clothes as possible. And don't forget to bring a pair of sport shoes with anti-slippery soles.

Zhangjiajie is schedualed to open, and is perfectly accessible, all the year round, and the ethereal beauty of its mountains would always take on its most enchanting appearance, regardless of the changing seasons.
To be on the safer side, visitors are advised not to climb the moutains in or after the rain, the heaviest volume of which tends to decend during the June and July, since the trails can be slippery and the peaks are often veiled by thick fog.
Yet the fairyland scene of a turbulent sea of spectacular stone formations wreathed by tremendous tidal waves of fogs and clouds 1 or 2 hours after the rainfall is definitely worth it!
