Thais always say that they have three seasons: hot, hotter, and hottest. This is very true in Pattaya, a place particularly known for its limitless fun in the sun. It is hot and dry from November to February, hotter and wetter from March to May, and the hottest and wettest during the monsoon season from July throughout October.
No matter which season you're in Pattaya, the rule of thumb is, remain yourself hydrated and let your skin breathe easily. Because of the heat and humidity, you'll sweat a lot and change your clothes very often, so drink as much as possible and wear loose fitting cotton clothes and comfortable footwear. Man-made fibers are ill-advised as far as what's proper to wear in Pattaya is concerned.
T-shirts, shorts and sandals are the perfect choices no matter you're to roam the city streets or to wade out to get into speedboats. Beachwear, sunglasses, and sun lotion are surely necessary as sandy beaches and swaying palms are unavoidable in Pattaya, so are the trendy nightclubs and fabulous restaurants, where smart casual wear will do just fine. Umbrella for rainy season, additional sets of clothes for changing and functional clothing for visiting religious sites for formal occasions are optional items you can consider packing up, or shopping around Pattaya for.

1. High season
Pattaya??s tourist high season is around Christmas-New Years (late-January to mid-February) period, which coincides neatly with the season of best weather. Typically, prices for everything would soar considerably during this period of time. So book your lodging and everything necessary well in advance.
2. Health and safety
Despite its slightly elevated administrative propaganda and the reportedly family-hostile sex tourism industry, Pattaya is actually as safe as the rest of Thailand- which is quite safe. For most of the time, you can always happily and safely enjoy all that Pattaya has to offer no matter what your age and gender. Taking precautions can nevertheless make your trip easier and more enjoyable.
Health issue:
As far as health issue is concerned, sunburn, sunstroke, dehydration and diarrhoea could be the most common health risks.
A combination of stressful long-haul air/road travel, long hours of exposure to the heavy equatorial heat and humidity, overexertion in outdoor recreational activities, lack of liquid, lack of fitness and relaxation, consumption of unfamiliar/unhygienic food/drinking water, and overdose, can all lead to some physical upset among certain people of certain age.
So it's a good idea to consult your foreign travel advisory bureau for some useful advices, check with your local hospital so as to have necessary vaccinations and bring an adequate supply of specific medication with you.
There has been a lot of press coverage of HIV/AIDS, as well as dengue fever and bird flu infection in more and more southeastern Asian countries. While dengue fever and bird flu can hardly exist in a tourist destination as well-established as Pattaya, there is likely to be a higher risk of STDs in Pattaya due to its prevalent sex industry. So if you are the type to be offended, be careful.
Safety issue:
Although violent crime such as mugging or robbery is uncommon in Pattaya, tourists are more commonly encountered by swindles (being ripped off or fake gem scams, in particular), pick-pocketing and jewelry and bag snatching. Sometimes, bar girls or ladyboys are in for such petty crimes. While for most people, the most hazardous aspect of a Pattaya trip could be the nightmare traffic.
It is very inadvisable to carry valuables in the crowds, expose large sum of cash in public, travel alone in poorly lit or secluded areas, particularly when it's very late at night, or stick around accident black spots such as the Dolphin Roundabout vicinity, the junction of Beach Road and Central Pattaya Road, and the junction of Beach Road / Walking Street and South Pattaya Road.
3.Other regulations
As with all of Thailand, Pattaya police show a "zero tolerance" attitude towards drug trafficking and trade. Gambling is also illegal in Pattaya.
