Hua Hin Travel Overview:
Shortly accessible from the Bangkok with a comfortable 175 miles drive on the highways, Hua Hin, the first beach resort of the country, is yet seemingly a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the capital and the seediness and sultriness of Pattaya on the other side of the Gulf.
What sets Hua Hin apart from Thailand??s other popular seaside resorts is the peace and serenity that their majesties of the King Rama VII and the Queen felt so fond of that they chosen it as the site to break ground for their "Far From Worries" summer palace Klai Kang Won in 1926, after a series of the momentous constructions, most notably the Southern Railroad that linked this former sleepy fishing village with the capital, the elegant Railway Hotel in 1923, now known as the Sofitel Central which counts itself as the first of the cluster of luxurious resort hotels on Hua Hin's beachfront, the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course in 1924, which is the country's first standard golf course and the spearhead of half a dozen championship golf courses within the town's immediate vicinity.
Thanks to the superb seaside location with clean beaches and calm waves, the royal influence which comes hand in hand with tight security, limited seedy scenes and a sense of a step up in the class, the fantastic holiday infrastructure that's more detoxicating rather than intoxicating, and the self-content with its enduring historical and indigenous identity, Hua Hin is the ultimate rest and recuperation getaway spot for Bangkok's elites and a welcome retirement and respite location for expats.

Blessed with the lowest rainfall of any beach area in Thailand and the year-round cooling sea breeze, Hua Hin has probably the most pleasant climate conditions in all of Thailand??s beach resorts.
Holidaymakers are guaranteed clear blue skies, warm calm waters and refreshing ocean breezes for most of their stays in Hua Hin, almost free from the non-stop heavy monsoon downpours that the north and south usually have to suffer from July-October. Even it rains, they won't last long and you can always wait the skies to clear up in minutes.
That said, Hua Hin is still hot the place for you if you are not comfortable with typical tropical heat and humidity. If you choose to holiday in this age-old beach resort of the kingdom, you should pack lightweight loose clothing, of cotton, silk or other natural fabrics for sure.
Shorts, sandals and T-shirts are fine for sightseeing during the day and on the beach of course. Swimwear, sunscreen and sunglasses are a must if you're spending most of your time soaking in the sun on the beaches. But at night you might want to dress up a bit if you're seeking to dine at a fancy restaurant or dance in a clubby pub.
Note that going topless is not allowed anywhere, and clothes and footwear not covering your upper arms, legs and feet are not suitable when visiting Buddhist temples and mosques.
Remember to thrown in an item of warm clothing, not that the slightly cooler nights or the occasionally overcast mornings in Hua Hin can sometimes be a bit cool. It makes much more sense when you have to stay in air-conditioned areas like shopping malls and office buildings for quite awhile.

1. Time to Visit
Since Hua Hin is blessed with a comparatively manageable average heat and humidity in the tropical Thailand, given its lowest rainfalls of all Thai beach areas and the constant blowing of the cool sea breeze, a pleasant vacation in Hua Hin is possible year-round, which is why the royal family first came and decided to reside here.
But if you choose to call at town in December or January, you're selecting the season of the best weather, and the most costly accommodations for sure.
November and February are also part of the peak tourism season, when the town's guesthouses and resort hotels are full and the streets seem to have as many foreigners as Thais.
The hot season (Mar-May) is precisely dry and sunny, while the rainy season (Jun-Oct) is not typically five months of solid rain, either one is suitable to take advantage of off-season value and uncrowded beaches.
2. Health and Safety
Hua Hin is perfectly safe even late at night and there is seldom any mugging reported. Due to the royal presence, there is an awareness of tighter security and healthier tourism infrastructure in this town.
Despite the irritant mosquito bites, malaria and dengue fever are no threat in Hua Hin. Seafood is locally caught and of high quality at restaurants and most street stalls. Sexy tourism industry is limited. Medical aid facilities are world class and affordable.
That said, the danger of common heat-related diseases, like dehydration and heat stroke, is not actually conspicuously lower. And encounters with jelly fish in the sea or at the beach, especially during the rainy season, can be dangerous too. Acquaint yourself with some knowledge about rehydration and detoxification, and avoid hazardous factors as much as possible.
