Busan Travel Guide

Busan Travel Overview:

An up-and-coming hotspot gradually appearing on the radar of global investors, world travelers and international convention organizers, and a venerably ancient city standing timelessly in the perfect harmony of mountains, rivers and the sea, Busan is, to some extent, the veritable microcosm of South Korea.
Though not as scintillating as the heavily wired Seoul, nor as stunning as the heavenly wild Jeju Island, Busan, the second largest city in South Korea, is by all accounts a smorgasbord of sights, sounds and smells that is ready to treat whoever happens to come down on this corner of the Land of Morning Calm to whatever takes their fancy with hearty helpings of feasts for the eyes, the mind and the belly.
Its history of human habitation dates from at least the early Neolithic times, its establishment as a city of any significance dates back to the Koryo dynasty, its name means "kettle mountain," a physical description referring to its geographical location on a mountain-girded calm bay where the Nakdong River empties into the Korea Strait on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula, and its excellent natural deep-water harbor, gentle tides and milder weather have allowed it to grow into South Korea's primary seaport and gateway to the world, and the World's fifth largest container port that is Busan today.
Given the choice of chances to chill out on Haeundae Beach, the most popular beach in Korea, to soak up the atmosphere of a really happening city at the colossal Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest fish market in the country, to take a dip in Dongnae Hot Springs, the only hot spring in the nation to be found right in the middle of the city, and to eascape to the wooded hideways in the mountains to get back in touch with nature, history or legend, at the Beomeosa Temple, one of Korea's Great 5 Temples, and the Geumjeongsanseong Fortress, the largest walled mountain fortress in Korea, you would also create a hedonistic and holistic life outside Seoul and Juju, right here in Busan!
