Brisbane enjoys a very pleasant sub-tropical climate of hot humid summers and mild warm winters, which dictates the pleasurable lifestyles of its residents and the principle of packing light of the tourists.
Given its mean daytime temperature maximum of only 30 degrees Celsius during the hottest season (January/February) and around 23 degrees Celsius during the coolest months (July/August), lightweight casual clothing is considered suitable all year round.
Although there are chances when something warm is needed to slip on, like a jacket for cooler summer evenings and a sweater for chillier winter mornings and evenings, and there are occasions you might want to specially dress for, like a suit and tie for business affairs, a Reefer jacket and a necktie for fine dining in a fancy restaurant and sport suit, jeans and sneakers for bushwalking or horse riding, one good rule of thumb is to go light and natural (like cotton and linen).
Be wary of the long hours of sunshine in Brisbane, whichi is the capital of the Sunshine State and the widely-acclaimed City of Sun Days.
Broad rimmed sunhat, wraparound style sunglasses, cool protective clothing and super strong protection sunscreen are recommended to take full advantage of Brisbane's beautiful sunny climate. Don't forget your swimsuit!

Sunburn:
One of the biggest health matters that concern travelers in Australia the most, especially in Brisbane, the Capital of the The Sunshine State where incidence of sun-related skin cancers are among the highest in the world.
Without protection, you will start to get burned within 15-20 mins, especially during summer when dehydration, heatrash, sunburn and sunstroke are just a few of the many good way to ruin your happy holiday.
So "Slip, Slop, Slap"! Slip on a T-shirt, slop on UV sunscreen and slap on a hat, even on cloudy days.
It is also strongly recommended to reapply some sunscreen every two or three hours, and straight after swimming or sweating, and re-hydrate regularly by drinking plenty of water.
