Adelaide Travel Overview:
Located on a flat fertile corridor of riverbanks along the Torrens River between a gentaly coastal plain sidling up to the Gulf St Vincent, and the corrugated line of arcs of the the Mount Lofty Ranges, Adelaide is a genteel gracious place of peace perfect for a relaxing Australian holiday as well as a hedonistic hippy South Autralian capital who knows how to party.
Known as the "City of Churches", as the mighty St Peter's Cathedral and a multitude of churches attest, Adelaide is where the culture and spirit of the the first non-convict achiever of all Australian cities truly emerges.
With the addition of the resplendency of colonial architecture to grace, the sophistication of celebratory events, cultural accoutrements, gastronomic choice and entertainment scene to garnish, the greenery of its lush parklands and gardens, shady boulevards and airy squares and surrounding vineyards to garland, and the rawness of the Nullarbor Plain and the Great Victoria Desert to guard, Adelaide is the exact kind of place its founding father, Colonel William Light,had envisioned, a solid dignified city, with a manner that the rough and tumble criminality of other state capital could never match, only much spawled in scale and sophisticated in varieties.
Admire Colonel William Light's watchful and proud gaze across his city from atop the Montefiore Hill, relish Adelaide's old England feel at the many alfresco restaurants and sidewalk cafes, take in the cultural heritage of the museums, galleries, and libraries along the North Terrace, take advantage of delightful detours through the Botanic Gardens and Adelaide Zoo, indulge in the epicurean therapy at the Central Market, enjoy an afternoon frolicing on Glenelg beach, revel in Adelaide and all it has to offer during the Adelaide Fringe Festival or the Adelaide Festival of Arts -the South Australian capital has it all!

Adelaide is blessed with an enjoyable Mediterranean climate which means that the warm and dry summer is not particularly hot and the cool wet winter winter is not cold.
As far as dress code in Adelaide is concerned, Adelaidians tend to be informal dressers. While packing for your Adelaide holiday, the rule of thumb is to dress accordingly for the season.
When the daytime temperatures range from 25C to 35C during December, January and February, and locals and tourists flock to the the beaches and outdoor venues, lightweight clothing such as shorts, t-shirts and open-toe shoes are then required to keep cool.
A light jacket of some sort may be useful in the evenings, especially near the coast or in the hills.
Be aware of the harshness of the sunrays in Australia. Always slop on lots of sunscreen, and 30+ please! Possible risk of skin diseases associated with overexposure is rather high in Australia.
A sweater or a light overcoat would come as useful in the evenings from March through May, when the daytime temperature readings are generally 20C to 25C.
It is very dry in Adelaide during autumn, clothing made of antistatic fibers is then advised to wear. Moisturiser cream is also a must.
You will need to pack warmer clothes for your stay in Adelaide during June, July and August, when the daytime temperatures go down to around 10C to 15C.
Although it does not snow in witner, there will be a real chill in the air and the rain makes it even colder.
A winter wooly, sweater, topcoat, scarf, and warm shoes, plus an umbrella, are appropriate for this period of time.
When the temperatures get warmer again during spring, light clothing becomes suitable again for this time of the year, but you should keep your jackets and sweaters handy just in case the weather changes suddenly.

2.Safety
Adelaide enjoys a very safe enviroment where violent crimes are rarely reported, especially among tourists.
As with any other established tourist destinations in the world, Adelaide is not crime free.
Petty thieves, in particular, are known to prevail in very busy tourist areas.
Other than that, tourist¡¯ s personal security won¡¯t be anything of an issue in the South Austalian capital.
Basic precautions are advised to make your stay safer in Adelaide:
Make sure your vehicle is locked with no valuables on display, and your belongings are secured in hotel safe or within easy reach at all times;
Don¡¯t walk around displaying expensive possessions;
Don¡¯t wander around alone late at night in unlit areas and quiet laneways;
Keep copies of all vital travel documents handy and store the copies seperately from the originals;
3.Health
Sun Protection:
The sun is absolutely one of the major causes of illness in Australia.
Overexposure to the sun would result in dehydration, sunburn, sunstroke, and various UV radiation related skin conditions and diseases.
To be sun-smart, seek shade whenever possible, hours between 11am and 3pm in particular;
When out in the sun, always slip on your shirt, wear a wide brimmed hat and use a high quality sun screen of at least SPF30;
Drink plenty of water throughout the day, get paracetamol ready and seek medical advice if conditions get out of control;
Bushwalking tips:
Always follow the health precautions as instructed by the tour book, tour guide or locals;
Be aware of the venomous creatures such as the brown and tiger snakes and redback spiders, especially in the forested fringes during the warmer months.
